Requirements for Water Distribution and Plumbing Products in the USA

Several new requirements for lead content and lead leaching requirements have been established in the USA for products conveying and dispensing drinking water. The State of California has strict lead content requirements of <0.25% going into effect in 2010. Other US states are considering similar regulations. NSF/ANSI Standard 61 will lower the leaching limits for lead in 2012. This presentation will cover the new requirements for stricter lead limits, and explain how product manufacturers can obtain certification to demonstrate compliance.
